Shopping Day for The Holiday Store is Monday, Dec. 5th!

We are in full swing with the Christmas Season!
Your child brought home an envelope with a letter explaining the Holiday store at Blount. Our shopping day is TOMORROW. If you would like your child to participate, please help them fill out the envelope that was sent home and discuss the people they should have on their list.

Look for a letter in your child's binder to come home soon about our Christmas party that will be on Thursday, December 15th.

A great big thank you to all the moms that came and ate lunch with the class last week for Teacher Treat Day. It was a fantastic treat!!

We have been very busy with Christmas crafts and we love to listen to Christmas music as we "craft"! If your child has a favorite Christmas CD that they would like to share with us they are welcome to bring it.

If I have any parents that would like to come and do a special Christmas craft with the class please send me an email and we can set up a time. I have found out that Room 124 NEVER gets tired of crafts!

We are in need of paint pens for a craft project coming up. The main colors we need are black, orange, brown, and red.

Story this week: Anansi Goes Fishing
Genre: Folk Tale
Phonics: Compound Words
Comp. Skill: Cause and Effect
Comp. Strategy: Monitor and Fix Up
Grammar: Verbs for past, present, and future

In Math we will continue with Subtraction.  The kids are doing very well with regrouping.  Remember to practice Math facts with your child.  We will have a timed drill test the week of Dec. 12th.  I am so pleased with how well they are doing on Math Facts in a Flash.  We are getting better and better!!  Also, don't forget to visit the Math Web Sites on the side of our page.  We have heard a rumor of the Math Store opening up in January so we are going to be more than ready to get those Bount Bucks when it opens!

Look for a Science Voc. study sheet to come home this week.

Please email me at beth.culp@mps.k12.al.us  with any questions or concerns.

Thank you so much for all you do!
